May 27th, 2005 It's 1 p.m. and I get to go home from work right now! This is phenomenal. You know it's going to be a a good show when this guy shows up to preach beforehand. The sign his minion was carrying reads "6 foot 7 inch Jew/Will freestyle rap for you."
This is the only pic I got of Jenny, and if we were friends she'd bust my ass for posting it, but I think she looks hot, as usual.
A twenty second clip of Rilo Kiley's "Better Son/Daughter" from last night (My camera battery was dying. Sorry.) I guess I'm not going to the second Rilo Kiley concert tonight because I just scored tickets to game one of the Yankees/ Red Sox series. Yessssssssssss!! (That sound you just heard was the collective gasp of every gay man in my life). Thanks to John the Giant fan for letting me know what this new German pope brings to the table:
Yesterday, my friend had to hang up on me because her therapist called. A few minutes later, I received this IM from her:
Indeed. I'll write about last night's Rilo Kiley show as soon as I put some omelette into my tummy. I obtained a copy of the setlist, and it's useless--they followed nothing. I didn't take notes during the show--off-duty, no workie, thank God. Songs I remember them playing (in order, kind of) : "It's a Hit," "Hail To Whatever You Found in the Sunlight," "Portions for Foxes," "Accidental Death," "I Never," "Pull me In Tighter," "So Long," "More Adventurous," "Ripchord," "Absence of God," "The Execution of All Things," "Love and War," "Does He Love You?" "With Arms Outstretched," "Spectacular Views," "Better Son/Daughter." They also encored some B-side I didn't know after "Spectacular Views." Just got back from the Rilo Kiley show. Hot hot hot. Too tired to type, but once again, I stealthily took shitty, bootleg video clips of a few songs. Here are a few of my favorites:
